Shots ring out on baseball field,

Political violence escalates even more,

It's from the same side with a media shield,

We'll see this again to be sure,

For terror is an old weapon they like to wield.

Quickly the parrots must squawk about Trump,

They blame him for a climate of hate,

His supporters in with the failed assassin they'll lump,

All before the facts come in they throw about their weigh,

The juicy fruit of terror is for them simply too plump.

When the truth comes out the quickly shut their traps,

Turns out this would be murderer was a Bernie Bro,

They start talking about guns and try to put motives under wraps,

A climate of hate is down a rhetorical path they'll no longer go,

They think they can depend on an American intelligence lapse.

The problem you see is the evil saloons serving beer,

It can't be that there is corruption in our cities,

It can't be that the wives chose men they can't keep here,

So we'll campaign for probation and fund comities,

Then we'll blame the symptom and drum up more fear.

Replace beer with guns and you have the current story,

Pushed by those who themselves have high walls,

Private security keeps them safe in a quest for easy glory,

No violence will meet their gilded halls,

Greater power over you and me is their true quarry.
