Toil and toil all the day long,

Toil against the passage of time,

Toil against the world's wrong,

Toil against my own grime,

I toil and toil the day away,

Only to once more enter the fray.

Pressure from the outside,

Pressure to become fruitful,

Pressure from the inside,

Pressure to become useful,

In time a hard diamond I'll become,

Abrasive to many and bright to some.

The blisters are worth the pain endured,

The pressure is worth the changes made,

The toil is worth the work secured,

The hardness is worth the abrasions paid,

Every bit of strife endured is worth it,

Every strain of pressure is worth every bit.

It's my friends who bring light to my day,

It's their words on my screen in the night,

I love every letter they do say,

I love how it makes my world so bright,

This is why if you think you haven't any worth,

Remember that you're a treasure here on Earth.
